Recently, Rafael (name changed for privacy) came to me curious about trying colon hydrotherapy. He was nervous about the process. He had never done any type of colon cleansing before and over the past year had put on about 10 stubborn pounds.
Rafael did 5 colonic sessions over a 5 week period and did a 12 day herbal detox that I had recommended. He also added a green smoothie and some flax seeds to his diet.
Rafael shared with me that before he began his colonic sessions, his energy level was about a 5 out of 10. At his last session, he reported that his energy level was a 10 out of 10 and his pants were fitting looser. He was losing weight and felt more motivated to exercise. I also noticed that his skin had more of a healthy glow and the whites of his eyes looked brighter.
One of the questions I am asked most often is, “How did you become a Colon Hydrotherapist?” It all started when I was in my early twenties and working as a singer/dancer at the Deerhurst Resort stage show (in Hunstville, Canada) where Shania Twain once got her start. Health, physical fitness and high energy was essential to my job. By chance I had picked up a copy of Bernard Jensen’s “Tissue Cleansing Through Bowel Management” at a local health food store. The most fascinating part of the book to me was the photographic record of a man with a severely ulcerated foot that was healed in two weeks using colon cleansing, fresh juices and whole foods. After reading that book, I began learning as much as I could about the colon / large intestine and it’s relationship to the rest of the body systems and health.
A decade later, when I moved to Los Angeles, one of my close friends (who was turning sixty) commented one day that she felt so energetic that she felt like she was fourteen again. I asked her what she was doing and she whispered, “don’t tell my husband, it’s my little beauty secret” and shared with me that she had been doing some colonics. I promptly booked my initial three sessions with my friend’s Colon Hydrotherapist and was excited about how I might benefit from the colonics. After the first session, I was unimpressed and somewhat disappointed. I did not feel any sort of “transformational” effects. I did not understand at that time that it was a process. However, after the third session (5 days later), I was amazed. I felt energized, clear headed, my skin was glowing, the whites of my eyes were brighter than ever and people were noticing and commenting, “What are you doing? You look great.” And I felt great.
When I decided to embark upon the training to become a Colon Hydrotherapist, it was more to learn; I didn’t really know if I would pursue it as a profession. I felt passionate about the benefits that I had experienced and wanted to understand more about how colon hydrotherapy was effecting my body. As soon as I started the training though, I knew I wanted to assist others as a Colon Hydrotherapist.
It is always exciting to see a person transforming their life through positive change. I am lucky enough to see this every day.
